Function:

Engineering and Engineering Services Job Summary:CF Industries is the world's largest producer of ammonia and a leading global manufacturer of hydrogen and nitrogen products. Our manufacturing complexes in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom are among the most cost-advantaged, efficient, and flexible globally. Additionally, we boast an unparalleled storage, transportation, and distribution network across North America, ensuring our products reach customers efficiently and reliably. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the construction of a state-of-the-art, large-scale facility dedicated to producing low-carbon ammonia. This industry-transforming plant is being built from the ground up, utilizing the latest ATR technology combined with carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). This advanced technology is expected to reduce emissions from the ammonia production process by more than 90% compared to conventional plants without CCS. While we are not the first company to build a plant with ATR technology, this will be the largest of its kind.

Position Overview:

The Environmental Lead is responsible to provide technical support to ensure effective environmental systems are maintained for compliance and excellence and generally serves as a subject matter expert in at least one medium (air, water, waste). The main areas of responsibility include managing environmental compliance, development and maintenance of environmental permits, release reporting/investigation, and providing training and support to facility personnel to ensure environmental systems are effective to maintain compliance with governmental regulations and company policies/practices. What you'll do:

* Identify and interpret current and potential EHS regulatory and company requirements affecting the facility, and work with departments to create and maintain EHS policies, systems, and processes.
* Monitor and measure the effectiveness of facility EHS system metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and execute work priorities and plans independently.
* Provide guidance as a subject matter expert in areas such as air, water, and waste management practices, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.
* Assist in incident investigations related to environmental considerations, conduct evaluations to identify trends and root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
* Participate in company audits and site inspections by regulatory personnel and collaborate with departments to integrate environmental best practices into operating procedures and engineering practices.
* Identify and facilitate the completion of activities and measurements for environmental regulatory compliance and review internal and third-party activities to ensure compliance.
* Prepare and submit regulatory applications to ensure valid permits to operate and manage the site-wide solid and hazardous waste program, including profiling, handling, shipments, tracking, training, and procedures.
* Monitor process data for environmental performance and trends, actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities, and provide recommendations for resolving potential non-compliance issues.

Required Skills

* BS/BA in a related field or equivalent experience typically required to complete all essential job functions: Preferred BS in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
* At least 8 years of engineering experience with a combination of operations/engineering at CF (or a comparable chemical manufacturing company or engineering & technology services provider).

Other unique job relevant attributes:

* Advanced technical knowledge of environmental regulations, application of pollution abatement processes, equipment, and procedures.
* Working understanding of chemical operations, safety systems, and environmental metrics.
* Experience with electronic tools/systems, simulation software, and tracking mechanisms.
* Proven ability to collaborate and drive results with personnel in other departments/functions.
* Strong time management and organizational skills; including the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects with competing demands
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence culture.
* Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
* Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental standards, codes, regulations, and laws.
* Must be able to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
