Performs general custodial duties as directed by departmental leadership.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
Academics and Residence Halls

  • Completes duties not limited to sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors; dusting and polishing furniture and woodwork.

  • Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.

  • Empties and cleans waste and recycling receptacles; picks up paper and trash.

  • Cleans relight glass, windows and walls.

  • Cleans decks, balconies, sidewalks, offices, laundry rooms, and common space areas.

  • Sets up, moves, and arranges furniture and equipment.

  • Turns out lights and locks doors and windows, as required.

  • Maintains cleaning materials clean and presentable. Unloads supplies and maintains custodial closets clean and organized.

  • Routinely launders housekeeping materials.

  • Performs special projects and cleans other facilities, as assigned.

  • Reports all matters of safety to Supervisor.

  • Follows all University and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Receives direction from the Team Lead, Custodial Services on work direction,cleaning procedures, techniques, cleaning problems, and in the use of new methods and products.

Additional Job Description

  • May volunteer as essential employee as designated in the Facilities Management Severe Weather Policy.
