Role Overview:

The Sales Representative role is a key part of our New York Life Group Benefit Solutions distribution organization that focuses specifically on Agents within our Agency System. This role exclusively works with New York Life's Business Solutions team to help educate, train and guide Agents in selling new business and assisting with the persistency of our in-force clients.

What You'll Do:

  • Interact daily with NYL Career Agents and the Business Solutions Department (Home Office, Business Solutions Consultants, Internal Sales Desk Consultants) to provide employee benefits education, monitor case status, negotiate rates with underwriters, and manage all other factors leading to the closing of an Employee Benefits case
  • Provide one-on-one case consultation and Employee Benefits case design services for agents, and Business Solutions Consultants
  • Responsible to update and maintain proposal data into Salesforce timely and accurately, to be utilized for sales and management reporting
  • Assist agents on client meetings to review Employee Benefits options with New York Life
  • Monitor Employee Benefits case development, identify sales trends, and generate sales projections to share with Business Solutions leadership
  • We are seeking a candidate that is a self-starter who likes building relationships and driving profitable sales results in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll bring:

  • BA/BS Degree preferred2+ years of relevant experience with Group Term Life, Group Short-Term Disability, Group Long-Term Disability, and Voluntary Benefits
  • Highly motivated with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to navigate and develop relationships within a matrix organization (underwriting, service, implementation partners)
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player to achieve goals and objectives
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks at once while prioritizing as needed
  • Ability to maintain compliance tracking in all appropriate systems as needed (quotes, calls, sales)
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Ability to use and present technology/online tools effectively Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of NYL Career Agency System a plus
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Driver's License / acceptable driving record
  • Life and Health Insurance License preferred (or ability to obtain)

Pay Transparency

Salary range:$100,000 - $130,000 (salary plus sales incentive)

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:No

Sales bonus eligible:Yes

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
