Wieland is hiring a Metals Hedging Advisor. The Metals Hedging Advisor will be responsible for provide training and mentoring to new members of the NA Metals Management team on the intracacies of base metal derivative trading; improving the team's understanding of time spreads, arbitrage opportunities and rollover strategies. They will serve as an advisor who recommends specific value-added strategies related to hedging and physical book management based on ever-changing market dynamics and macro-economic developments. In addition they will develop a clear understanding of the various systems within Wieland NA that feed our overall metal book positions and recommend improvement opportunities based on industry best practices that support the broader Wieland Group Risk Management policies.

This role is remote with occasional travel as needed.

Metal Hedging Advisor Responsibilities:

Work directly with the NA hedging team to provide training and further develop specific hedging-related skill sets
• Use industry relationships to improve communication with NA broker portfolio and help improve cred facilities and fee structures
• Monitor the domestic and import physical market landscape, and evaluate physical trading opportunities to reduce primary base metal costs and increase EBITDA
• Mentor team members and help develop solid bench strength

Metal Hedging Advisor Qualifications

• B.S. degree in business or technical-related discipline
• Fifteen + years of base metal hedging experience on both the LME and COMEX exchanges
• Solid understanding of the corresponding physical markets and trade flows
• Ability to train and develop a team
• Experience with leading by example, coaching, training, priority management, problem-solving, effective communication
• Ability to travel as required to NA sites and industry association meetings
