Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst will play a key role supporting broad strategic initiatives with data and actionable insights. This role will report directly to the resort's Vice President of Finance and Accounting, with opportunity for growth. Responsible for running weekly reporting, conducting labor efficiency analyses, assisting with budgeting and capital planning, and any other ad-hoc analysis as needed. Collaborating with other departments within Palisades Tahoe to make informed decisions based on analytics to improve our financial results. This role will be a key member of the finance team and will work closely with department leaders across the company.

Please note this is a hybrid position located in Olympic Valley, California.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $25.71 - $35.99 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: (other duties may be assigned)
  • Conduct labor efficiency analyses to identify productivity trends and cost savings opportunities.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to optimize labor planning and variable cost management.
  • Deep dive into SG&A costs to identify opportunities for cost control, process improvements, and trends to build into the budgeting process.
  • Assist in evaluating and accounting for capital projects. Including tracking, reporting, and ROI / post investment performance reviews.
  • Publish and maintain financial reports and dashboards for the senior leadership team, as well as department managers as needed. Evaluates all current reporting, develops new reports and produces regular reports in a timely way.
  • Provide clear, data-driven insights to help business unit leaders optimize financial performance. Provide critical input for development of overall strategy for multiple business units and provide targeted and timely communication of results, achievements and challenges to the stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with operational teams to align operating strategies with business objectives. Work closely with these other functions: marketing, business operations, website operations, call center, hospitality, accounting and operations to make informed decisions using analytics.
  • Assist departments in developing, reviewing, and refining annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Uses productivity software (Excel), business intelligence applications (Microsoft Power BI), complex spreadsheets and analytical tools to analyze trends, future need periods, opportunities and communicate recommendations to appropriate stakeholders to accomplish brand/market objectives and initiatives conforming to the company's business goal.
  • Completes special analysis such as variance analysis, sensitivity analysis, price volume mix analysis, trends analysis, etc., and is able to retrieve the data from various database sources to perform such analyses.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide actionable insights to business unit leaders.
  • Fosters a data-driven decision-making environment and shares best Financial Management practices with peers and other departments.


Competencies and Job Requirements:
  • Solid understanding of the three financial statements and their relationships.
  • Intermediate Excel experience a plus.
  • Strong database analysis skills with the ability to understand how data is organized in multiple systems and how to retrieve appropriate data from source systems.
  • Proficient in developing data models and reports utilizing large data sets within Microsoft Power BI.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, attention to details, a pro-active approach to reaching goals, and be eager to learn and grow with the company.


Education and Experience:

Required:
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Preferred:
  • Previous experience within the travel or ski industry preferred.
  • Exposure to Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics 365, RTP One.
  • Advanced Excel experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
