About the Department of Psychological Sciences

The Department of Psychological Sciences works to supports the overall values and mission of MSU Denver to promote community, access, diversity, respect, and excellence. We are a large and collaborative department that includes professional staff and advisors, full-time faculty and lecturers, as well as a talented team of part-time affiliates. We strive to connect classroom learning with applied, real-word experiences providing foundational knowledge in a range of courses and sub-disciplines including clinical, developmental, social, and cognitive psychology. We offer both a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies in online and in-person formats.

Position Summary

The Department of Psychological Sciences invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in the cognitive/biological area of psychology. The primary teaching responsibilities will include behavioral neuroscience and/or cognitive psychology. This is a one academic-year appointment beginning Fall 2025 with the potential to be renewed on a year-to-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 5 courses (15 hours) per semester, including both in-person and online formats. The teaching load will consist of undergraduate courses such as brain & behavior, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, statistics and research methodology courses, and other courses as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology or related field completed no later than the start of the Fall 2025 semester

Preferred Qualifications

  • ABD or earned Doctorate in Psychology or neuroscience completed no later than the start of the Fall 2025 semester
  • In-person and/or online teaching experience from a wide variety of undergraduate psychology courses. These may include, but are not limited to, both lower and upper division psychology courses such as introductory psychology, statistics, research methodology, brain & behavior, behavioral neuroscience, clinical neuropsychology, psychopharmacology, and/or cognition and memory courses
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully teaching, mentoring, and advising a diverse urban student population

Salary for Announcement

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 at Lecturer level. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
