Energy Transfer is seeking a Maintenance Manager responsible for maintenance of our marine terminal in Houston, Texas (ETHT). Requires knowledge of docks, tanks, rotating equipment, piping, rail racks and truck racks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to the facility Director and provides a critical role in the leadership team at ETHT.
- Responsible to provide leadership in Safety, Environmental and reliability for the facility Maintenance and contract workforce. Provide leadership as a team member of the ETHT Operations/Maintenance management staff. Attend and participate in all relevant Safety meetings and activities.
- Supports and assists HES training activities, policies and procedures.
- Supports various field and system audits.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Required to be a member of the Incident Command Structure at ETHT.
- Responsible for management of all ETHT maintenance activities. This includes, but is not limited to oversight of supervisors, schedulers/planners, maintenance staff and contract personnel.
- Review and manage overtime within the department.
- Review of the weekly schedule, making sure any overdue items are being addressed.
- Provides guidance to resolve operational problems as required.
- Works closely with other departments to maintain efficient operations and maintenance practices.
- Ensures equipment reliability of assets and the efficiency of the Maintenance workforce and contractors.
- Actively creates and oversees maintenance capital, expense projects, and O&M budgets.
- Oversees budget re-forecasting on expenses and projects run by Maintenance.
- Provides recommendations for operational improvements through submission of capital and expense projects as part of the annual budgeting process.
- Manages ETHT Fleet vehicles and specialty equipment. This includes "Telematics" for all facility vehicle tracking.
- Show a routine presence in the field for both in-house and contractor work.
Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Refinery Maintenance, Pipeline Maintenance, Liquid Terminal Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance.
- Must possess knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment required for petroleum operations.
- Prior management experience. (Supervisor, Superintendent, Manager, etc)
- Excellent interpersonal, Team, oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to comply with and enforce Company safety policies and procedures.
- Must have excellent PC skills and be proficient with applicable software applications.
- Must possess knowledge and maintenance of industrial equipment. This includes but is not limited to electrical systems, air compressors, pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation, marine docks, tanks, rail and truck racks.
- Must possess knowledge of DOT regulations including Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Maintenance experience with tanks, piping and pumps.
- Marine/dock experience.
- Rail and Truck Rack maintenance experience.

- Position is subject to 24 hour, 7 days per week on call availability.
- Capable of supervising outdoor maintenance activities in extreme weather.
- Ability to climb storage tanks and ladders, work safely in hazardous environments and the ability to respond to emergency situations as required.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
