Position Summary Hughes Hubbard seeks a highly qualified Junior Litigation Associate (1-3 years of experience) to join our diverse practice in our Kansas City, Missouri Office. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Background & Abilities Handle all aspects of complex litigation to include: drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery and handling discovery disputes, fact investigation and witness interviews, preparing for depositions, arguing motions, overall case management and client interaction. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with others; ability to communicate effectively in English orally and in writing; ability to organize and prioritize workload; knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, WORD, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Proficiency in PowerPoint a plus. Some travel required. Education and Bar Admissions JD degree; Bachelor's degree Must be admitted to practice law in Missouri or currently eligible to waive into this jurisdiction Experience Candidates must have at least one year of litigation experience, including drafting briefs, pleadings, and motions, as well as handling discovery, preparing for depositions, and other aspects of complex litigation. Candidates must have top academic credentials. Candidates must have stellar employment history (limited changes since law school graduation).
