Summary:
The Physician Practice Supervisor provides oversight and direction to the day-to-day operations of the practice ensuring that patient care services are provided in a professional and efficient fashion. Emphasis is placed on providing exceptional customer service and continuous improvement in practice operations. The Physician Practice Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the staff and reports directly to the manager. The incumbent will coordinate the activities for the various services located within the practice (if applicable- such as lab and radiology) along with the respective departmental managers. Maintains full understanding of the operation of the practice and provides back-up as necessary to the front staff. Ensures professional, accurate and quality service delivery. Incumbent must be able to function independently and self direct. Requires a high degree diplomacy, discretion and interpersonal skill. The incumbent is required to conduct all job responsibilities consistent with SMHC's policies and procedures and in compliance with all applicable laws or mandates relating to patient care and business activities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: N/A
  2. License/Certifications: Must be a Medical Assistant with certification with the AAMA or registration with the AMT within one year, or an LPN with a current license with the State of Maine. BLS required.
  3. Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in outpatient or hospital setting and understanding of office practice workflow preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills.
