POSITION PURPOSE: Manages all aspects of the IT support organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement the IT infrastructure strategy for the organization, including hardware, core infrastructure software (database, OS, Office365, etc.), and networking.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all hardware, software systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and meet the needs of the organization.
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure the team is working efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure all IT systems are in compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards.
- Work closely with customers, functional leads, and counterparts to deliver solutions in diverse organizations and project environments.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring expenditures are within approved limits and providing reports to leadership.
- Ensure the IT is scalable and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the organization, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors and suppliers, ensuring the organization is receiving quality products and services at competitive prices.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in IT, evaluating their potential impact on the organization and making recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
- Collaborate with other departments within and outside the organization to ensure IT is aligned with the overall business goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, ensuring they are clearly communicated and followed by all members of the organization.
- Ensure highly available operating environments utilizing secured on premise, hosted, SaaS, PaaS and cloud platforms.
- Maintain accurate system and network procedures and documentation for standards, assets, circuits, inventories, security configurations, audit controls, etc.
- Ensure standards are followed including those provided by security, and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain a disaster recovery/business continuity plan. Work with IT and other functional leaders to test and ensure an actionable recovery.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of technologies, architectures, and systems relevant to operations.
- Lead critical troubleshooting efforts and provide direction for issues in conjunction with vendors and infrastructure environments.
- Develop and maintain security and assess control on systems and networks in collaboration with Security team to deliver projects, incident management needs and monitoring.
- Evaluate current infrastructure investments and drive efficiencies, innovations and automations through new and existing tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science or similar degree preferred or a combination of education, experience, training, and certifications.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in IT, designing and supporting IT architecture and project management.
- Five (5) or more years of experience leading an IT department or organization, architecting solutions, implementing and supporting software.
Skills and Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of technologies and languages in Operational platforms such as, but not limited to: Linux, Unix, VMWare, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Palo Alto, LAN/WAN/wireless.
- Deep understanding of hardware scalability, high availability, risk mitigation and best practices of implementing IT infrastructure at scale
- Experience with designing, deploying and supporting infrastructure and applications
- Ability to optimize computer hardware/software delivery and provide actionable metrics
- Ability to manage and track end user requests and provide reporting metrics on how the service desk is supporting the organization.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to all levels of talent
- Solid problem-solving and conflict management skills
