The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the strategic growth of our stainless steel business segment by aggressively acquiring new customers and expanding relationships with existing accounts. They will develop and execute a dynamic go-to-market strategy, adapting to evolving market conditions and collaborating cross-functionally with Sales Business Units (SBUs) and Procurement to optimize pricing and buying strategies, ensuring alignment with overall market segment goals. This role is fully remote and requires a willingness to travel as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities
Sales Manager (Stainless) Responsibilities:
Expand market share and increase sales volume of key stainless steel alloys by strategically targeting new and existing customers, while optimizing pricing to achieve desired margin levels.
- Develop and lead comprehensive negotiation strategies to achieve targeted results within customer base. Coordinate execution of all formal/informal commercial arrangements with cross functional parties within Wieland to achieve seamless execution at customer
- Lead the collaborative development and execution of strategic account plans for new and existing accounts, working closely with SBU leaders to achieve shared growth objectives.
- Own & manage commercial forecast, finish goods inventory, terms, and compliance with special agreements for designated account baseDevelop and facilitate relationships with cross functional teams (including Customer Service, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Accounting, Finance, etc.) to maximize support and value delivered to assigned accounts, including leading project teams as needed/assigned.

- Acquire & dissemate market/customer intelligence with the organization, including via mandatory call reports and managing/updating customer profiles in assigned systems (ex: Wieland CRM).
Sales Manager (Stainless) Qualifications:
- Education: BS/BA degree in a relevant field (preferably with a marketing, technical, or engineering focus).
- Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in the stainless steel industry, preferably serving in/directly supporting sales & marketing and/or business development functions; track record of working with operations & supply chain; prior involvement in strategic planning for segment, product line, and/or broader business; demonstrated capability with enterprise systems (SAP preferred) & applications (MS including Excel & PPT). Expanding market share and growing the business value stream.
- People: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others & build/deliver persuasive arguments; proven record of leading teams to deliver on objectives.
- Communication: Professional written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated in e-mail, phone/video, and face-to-face in dealing with customers and other internal/external stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Driven to identify, comprehend, & address customer needs (business, technical, social).
- Data: Ability to analyze data, activities, and events to uncover & secure opportunities for the business.
- Decisions: Facilitate timely & effective decisions via research/preparation, application of judgement/perspective, storytelling, and organizational savvy.
- Approach: Enthusiastic, committed, and target-oriented; creative, resilient, and diplomatically assertive.
- Results: Record of delivering business results while balancing multiple tasks, stakeholders, and interests.
- Travel: Willing to travel nationwide as business needs dictate.
