  • Salary: $65,000-$70,000
  • First Shift: Monday-Friday



About the Role

As a Production Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations by managing production schedules, procurement processes, and inventory levels. You will be responsible for coordinating with corporate planning, customer service, and suppliers to meet production goals while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and manage production schedules for foam, straw, cutlery, specialty product lines, and extruder lines.
  • Collaborate with corporate planning and customer service to ensure timely delivery of schedules.
  • Optimize equipment utilization and communicate plans or deviations to department heads.
  • Monitor order flow and prioritize capacities to align with market demands.
  • Oversee procurement of raw materials such as foam beads, plastic pellets, boxes, bags, inks, and repair parts.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers for raw materials, supplies, and services.
  • Maintain inventory levels to meet customer service goals while minimizing costs.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as filing purchase documents and coordinating receipts with Accounts Payable.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety standards (HACCP/SQF), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a backup for Production Managers when needed.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 10+ years of supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in plastics, EPS, consumer products, or high-speed production industries is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.



Physical Demands & Working Conditions



  • Work in an indoor manufacturing environment that may not be air-conditioned.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, grasp, and lift objects up to 40 pounds during 8 or 12-hour shifts.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPE (hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses).
