DOUGLAS, GEORGIA

OPERATIVE JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: X-RAY SHOOTER

DEPARTMENT: NDT

PAY LEVEL: H03

JOB FUNCTION:

To shoot x-rays of cast parts per QES instructions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Place parts in trays and load parts into X-Ray machine and operate machine to produce legible x-rays.
  • Shall be able to organize and report test results.
  • Know practical theory and be familiar with and able to use manuals and source books for assistance in utilizing techniques.
  • Must be familiar with the type and location of expected defects for the fabrication process used to make the parts.
  • Be able to set up and calibrate equipment.
  • Be qualified to direct and carry out tests.
  • Able to establish techniques and inspection method documents.
  • Assure product is properly processed to the applicable method sheets.
  • Keep area clean and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Meet efficiency standards.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by Dept. Supervisor and/or Level III.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

EDUCATION:

High school education.

EXPERIENCE:

Three months OJT training.

INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:

Normal initiative and ingenuity. Ability to work productively without constant supervision.

EFFORT:

Above average physical effort required. Lift 10-25 pounds routinely, 30 pounds occasionally, 12 or more times per hour. Other duties as required.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for self. Make sure x-ray film is transported without mixing film. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.

Good working conditions, dusty, noisy.
