Job Title: Data Center Technician - Level 3 Summary: Are you passionate about technology and looking for an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge data center equipment? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Data Center Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, staging, setting up, and performing startups and shutdowns of various hardware components such as racks, hard drives, and switches. You will follow specific instructions, checklists, guides, and standard protocols to ensure everything is set up correctly and safely.
Key Responsibilities: * Setup and Maintenance: Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of data center equipment according to specific instructions and standard protocols. * Quality Checks: Perform post-execution quality checks to verify proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling according to safety protocols and deployment standards. * Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve issues by performing diagnostics and troubleshooting, replacing faulty components as needed. * Hardware Decommissioning: Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes, such as memory upgrades and OS rebuilds, following standard procedures with minimal guidance. * Incident Reporting: Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads. Qualifications: * Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. An Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training is preferred. * Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology. Previous data center experience is a plus. * Skills: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage one's time. * Certifications: A+, Network+, CCNA, or any relevant networking or hardware certifications. * Flexibility: Willingness to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and holidays. Top Skills: * 3-5 years of Data Center Technician experience (break/fix, hardware deployments, decommissions, etc.) * IT Education (AA degree or BS degree in CS or Technology) Why Join Us?
