Position Overview:
MannKind Corporation is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Congress/Event Manager to join our team. This pivotal role involves planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events, including Medical Affairs engagements, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) interactions, Industry events, industry congresses and internal events and meetings. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in event management within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, ensuring all events align with company objectives and comply with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Execution: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of events, including medical congresses and other industry events, advisory boards, and internal events and meetings. This encompasses venue selection, contract negotiation, budget management, and on-site coordination to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, and Compliance to align event objectives with company strategies and ensure consistent messaging across all events.
- KOL Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, facilitating their participation in events and ensuring their experiences reflect MannKind's commitment to scientific excellence.
- Compliance Adherence: Ensure all events comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations regarding marketing practices, disclosure statements, and healthcare professional interactions.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality event standards.
- Vendor Coordination: Identify, negotiate with, and manage external vendors and service providers to deliver event services, ensuring quality and budgetary requirements are met.
- Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback, assess event success, and identify areas for improvement in future events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning and execution within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of compliance regulations related to pharmaceutical events and healthcare professional interactions.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as required for event execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience in digital and hybrid event formats.
