A technical support role responsible for responding to customer and sales channel inquiries for product advice and selection, product application and set-up, and the development of standard and modified quote proposals. This role routinely is the liaison to engineering in support of smaller customer projects, product investigations and various customer inquiries for technical information. Prepare drawings and documentation, fabricate tools, equipment and prototypes, and conduct experiments and tests. Functional Contribution (Contribution Matrix):

This includes possibly identifying areas of improvement. * Has a basic understanding of the business or functions being supported. * Understands how actions impact expenses. * Interacts with internal/external customers and/or suppliers. * Demonstrates credibility, approachability & openness using excellent interpersonal listening and communication skills. * Modifies work, or scope of work, based on instructions from more experienced resources. Technical work is subject to review and approval. * Ability to solve simple routine problems or serve as team member or manager of customer projects or internal Watlow projects or teams. * Conforms to behaviors consistent with organizational culture. * Uses the Watlow Business System (WBS) to achieve results. Skills, Abilities and Mastery (Responsibility Matrix):
Product & Process Documentation: * Modify product and process designs based on defined design and process standards and trade-off curves. * Create drawings and other documentation in support of product and process design and development. * Assemble and create a BOM, routing for standard or modified standard product. * Process rework or prototype orders for standard/modified standard product. * Prepare CAD drawings for new parts, assemblies based on the instructions of others. * Read and interpret customer drawings. Technical Support & Services:
* Convert customer needs into a set of instructions for production to follow. * Provides technical advice to business unit sales agents, customers, and distributors including training as necessary. * Prepares and presents quotes primarily for standard and modified product and services. * Advises customers, distributors, and sales agents on product advice and selection, product application and set-up and programming in the case of control products. * Provides input to sales volume, sales trend, sales forecasts, and market and competitor intelligence. * Serves as a post-sale technical resource. * Maintains business relationships with established customers. * Supports orders for quotes generated. * Assists to develop product growth strategies. * Assists with evaluating and resolving returned material issues and product investigations. * Assists sales agents to develop new customers. * Provides input regarding customer feedback, product gaps, market intelligence, etc. * Participate in quality investigations. * Deep knowledge of specified products in area of responsibility. * Excellent customer facing and conflict resolution acumen. * Strong cross-functional teaming skills. * Ability to assess opportunities for business fit and attractiveness and recognize when evaluation support is needed. * Ability to develop quotations and work within pricing guidelines. * Ability to support presentation and customer-facing activities. Education, Experience and Certification Requirements:
