TRIO Programs: The Upward Bound Project ACE (Achieving Academic & Career Excellence) Program is designed to provide support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. Our goal is to recruit participants into the Upward Bound program, retain them, graduate them and prepare them for post-secondary education admittance and graduation. The Opportunity: The ACT Prep English Instructor works with Project ACE (Apopka High School) scholars in groups and individually to provide instruction during the six-week summer program. This is a unique job opportunity for people who enjoy working with students and who have experience in teaching English and tutoring. This position will work up to 26 hours per week during the summer, at $24.00 per hour, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) and one year's experience working with middle or high school students. Preferred Qualifications:
Special Instructions to the Applicants: ACE Summer Academy is held 4 consecutive weeks at Apopka High school and 1 week at UCF Main. The selected candidate must pass Level 1 and 2 background check per UCF requirements for working with minor youth. The schedule for this position is as follows:
