Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for directing all activities of maintenance department personnel to ensure the physical plant's equipment is operational. They will also be responsible for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, servicing, utilities, efficiency of production machinery and equipment in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. The position will be hands on and will work on cross functional teams across multiple plants throughout the nation. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, effective leadership, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Directs the operations and maintenance of Production Equipment, Production Support Equipment, Electrical, Mechanical, Compressed Gas, Compressed Air, Water, Rental equipment and etc. to provide uninterrupted services of the production operations.
  • Arranges and coordinates the internal safety inspections to meet OSHA, ANSI, Insurance Carrier, local, state, and federal regulations. Will follow-up on any identified deficiencies and recommendations.
  • Responsible to ensure maintenance department personnel efficiently maintain facility equipment, buildings, grounds, utilities, and services for optimum performance of all operations.
  • Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and support equipment/systems in proper working condition.
  • Works closely with other department leaders to ensure operations and maintenance schedules run smoothly.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors for the maintenance and repair of plant equipment.
  • Assembly and disassembly of machines to make repairs, perform inspections, or replace with new items.
  • Mechanical troubleshooter who uses a systematic process to identify root cause issues.
  • Must be able to utilize drawings and diagrams (electrical, piping, PID loops) to identify failed components and speed up repairs.
  • Must be a safety conscientious team leader by performing LOTO per company policy and understanding general safety protocols relating to mechanical operations.
  • Read, refine and develop preventive maintenance and other maintenance related documents (ECP's, work orders, inventory sheets).
  • Responsible for job descriptions, training and the evaluations of all maintenance and custodial personnel.
  • Inspects jobs in process and at the completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
  • Maintains inventories of maintenance materials, supplies, and repair parts at required (determined) levels by initiating requisitions for purchase.
  • Responsible for electrical and mechanical layouts/drawings for equipment, workstations/work cells and the modifications of departments within the plant.
  • Recommends, plans and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.
  • Secures major equipment bids and makes recommendations for purchase when replacement or new equipment is required.
  • Produce, maintain and track SOPs as required. Train personnel on new or revised SOPs.
  • Researches and provides the best technologies available to obtain the safest and most efficient operations.
  • Participates in annual budget preparation as it relates to safety, maintenance and personnel.
  • Travel to out of state manufacturing locations and to vendors will be required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a similar field is highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of experience in supervisory positions utilizing a combination of technical skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with industrial equipment, controls, and preventative maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, & EPA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent analytical, leadership and facilitation skills
  • Ability to interact efficiently with various levels in the organization
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Plan and prioritize personal workload effectively- create personal timing plans and manage internal/external workload accordingly
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment and comfortable with continuous process improvement.
  • Must be able to perform work at heights in aerial lifts, scissor lifts, ladders or other elevated devices.
  • Travel required and may occasionally need to work outside normal business hours on short notice.
