Packaging Technician - Summer 2025

Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE: Pull products from inventory and hand assemble components into sub-assemblies and kit boxes using kit packaging diagrams as quality system documentation. Focus on delivering exceptional results by adhering to safety protocols, maintaining rigorous quality standards, meeting delivery deadlines, and continuously improving productivity. Contribute to a culture of operational excellence to achieve company objectives and exceed customer expectations.

CORE DUTIES:

  1. Pull products from inventory and assemble components into kits using quality system documents, including kit packaging diagrams.
  1. Label components and kits accurately.
  2. Accurate documentation of processes and various run sheets.
  3. Staging and locating product.
  4. Maintaining and closing process orders in the ERP system.
  5. Operate and set up equipment according to process
  6. Assist in inventory.
  7. Cross training in various product finishing areas.
  8. Assist others on kit packaging tasks.
  9. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma or proven work experience that ensures you are ready to be successful in this role.
  1. Ability to work quickly and accurately meeting department standards.
  1. Ability to learn and work independently with little supervision.
  1. Demonstrated competency in general math.
  1. Demonstrated general computer knowledge, with a working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, and Word, and an ERP System.
  1. Demonstrated good organizational and prioritization skills.
  1. Ability to work in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Prior experience working in a scientific environment with exposure to various production and packaging equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Manual dexterity to assemble kits and dispense product.
  2. Ability to manually manipulate objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  1. Ability to move up to 300 lbs. using a dolly and 500 lbs. using a pallet jack occasionally.
  1. Ability to transition between ambient and freezers up to -20 degrees C.
  1. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time.
  1. Ability to position oneself in low positions multiple times per day.
  1. Ability to move in repetitive motions throughout shift.
  1. Ability to assemble kits with -70 degrees C product for long periods of time.
  1. Visual acuity for quality inspections.
  2. Ability to use computer / Microsoft Office applications.
