Our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities including the greater St. Louis area Positions - 2 Hourly Range - 32.55 - 40.67 Revision Date - 12/12/24 Area/Division - 01/23 DUTIES: Under general supervision, to represent the Company as a single point of contact with customers, builders, developers, any Company representatives, and other appropriate contacts regarding service requests of low to moderate complexity. Process and monitor customer applications for service from start to finish, including, but not limited to the following activities: Design assigned jobs of low to moderate complexity in accordance with Company electric standards and candidate's experience. Answer inquiries and respond to information requests from customers, electricians, and others regarding service facilities Provide accurate job information as required to the Design Center. Prioritize and quickly respond to internal and external customers regarding service requests. Provide the customer with information on rates, charges, programs, service requirements and other technical expertise as required. Obtain all required customer approvals, easements, and rights-of-way as needed, to prepare appropriate contracts, permits, releases, plats and records. Make field inspections and prepare material and labor estimates, plats and drawings for proposed construction. As needed use survey equipment/tools, including transit and level. Handle special requests as assigned. SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for customer satisfaction with all facets of service work. Responsible for ensuring proper application and collection of service-related charges and protection of Company revenue. Company policies for revenue guarantees and contributions will be implemented to serve the best interest of the Company. Responsible to ensure billing and operating records are properly established for all service work. Responsible for efficient and effective use of Company resources. Identify the method of service that is in the best interest of the Company. Use Company equipment, when necessary, in a safe and prudent manner. Protect public safety by preventing and/or identifying unsafe electric facilities. CONTACTS: Regular communication with, customers, contractors, governmental authorities, real estate developers, banks, trust companies, and other contacts as appropriate. Daily Communication with internal departments -Design Center, Operations department representatives, supervision, supervisors/foremen regarding jobs stores, transportation and meter departments regarding estimates, materials, transportation facilities, and meter data. WORKING CONDITIONS: A combination of office and field environment. When in the field, must wear personal protective equipment as required. Subject to emergency call-out. Required to operate a vehicle. Considerable walking long distances and over rough terrain Ability to use hand tools and equipment as required. Exposed to varying weather conditions and construction site conditions when in the field. Will work in close proximity to energized electrical facilities. QUALIFICATIONS: * A High School Degree, or equivalent. Two (2) years of related experience in one of the following fields (CAD, field work, construction, surveying, technical drawing, electrical work, or related) preferred. * Possession of a valid driver's license is required. * Pass Company's EEI Technical Aptitude test is required. If the aptitude test is failed on the candidate's initial effort, it may be retaken after a one month waiting period, but not to be taken more than once per job posting. The test may only be taken a maximum three (3) times in the Company. * Completion of a minimum of three (3) credit hours in AC/DC Electricity from an accredited junior college, college or university or Company approved certificate program with a minimum grade level of "C" is preferred. If not completed prior to acceptance on the position, the applicant must complete the Company offered AC/DC course as outlined under Post Employment Qualifications. * Complete one (1) semester of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) 3 credit hours from an accredited junior college, college or university or Company approved certificate program with a minimum grade level of "C" is preferred. If not completed prior to acceptance on the position, the applicant must complete the CAD training requirement as outlined under Post Employment Qualifications within one year of hire date. POST EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: Successfully complete Modules 1 through 3 of the Company's technical training program for the Electrical Distribution Designer I position within one (1) year of the start date per the Training Agreement. If the CAD educational requirement is not met prior to the acceptance of the position; employees will be required to enroll in one semester of Computer Aided Drafting from an accredited tech school, junior college, university or company approved certificate program within 12 months of the start date. This program must be completed with a minimum grade level of "C" prior to be eligible to promote to Electrical Distribution Designer. If the AC/DC Electrical educational requirement is not met prior to the acceptance of the position; employees will be required to enroll in and successfully complete the Company sponsored AC/DC course and pass the test for each section with a minimum of 80% within one year of the hire date. If employee fails the company offered AC/DC course the employee must enroll and complete three (3) credit hours in AC/DC Electricity not on company time from an accredited college, university, or approved technical program with a minimum grade level of "C" within their probationary period. Once qualified for the Electrical Distribution Designer II position, the employee will automatically be promoted to that position, upon approved submittal of completed checklist and the request of employee. - Qualification means successful completion of AutoCAD class with "C" or better, successful completion of AC/DC class with 80% or better in each section, successful completion of Modules 1-3 and the associated tests meet all other Electrical Distribution Designer II requirements and receive an achieving expectations on previous year performance appraisal. The candidate cannot transfer out of this position for two (2) years, except to promote to the Electrical Distribution Designer II. OTHER: Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
