Responsible for development and integration related to the ongoing support, fine-tuning, and extension of the organization's corporate Salesforce.com, Force.com, and CPQ environments. Provides technical leadership around the development efforts for the Saleforce.com, Force.com, and CPQ platforms. Provides technical strategy and direction to ensure the application remains aligned with business requirements and offers recommendations for process integration, application development, and ongoing enhancement of the CRM and other various business systems running on the Force.com platform. This individual will combine strong business acumen with proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help maximize the business value of IT system investments. The Salesforce Lead Engineer will be a self-directed learner who quickly learns new technologies and business processes and independently executes projects for internal customers. This hands-on design and development role demands strong analytical, data modeling and programming background in the Force.com Technology stack.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides hands on configuration leadership and best practice guidance for SFDC solutions.
- Provides creative architecture and coding solutions to help the business.
- Participates in the full application life cycle from design to development, testing, deployment and support of Salesforce, Force.com, and CPQ applications.
- Designs and develops reusable code using the Salesforce.com and Force.com developer toolkit.
- Develops web services API integrations with other systems including Salesforce.com, Oracle based systems, and middle ware.
- Develops custom objects, and workflows in Salesforce\Force.com.
- Manages multiple multi-faceted development initiatives utilizing Force.com technologies
- Provides guidance and best practices around Salesforce.com solutions.
- Interacts with thebusiness user community to help correctly scopeSalesforce and Force.com implementations.
- Identifies innovative solutions to business issues during technical development.
- Identifies and documents data and application integration requirements.
- Partners with IT and functional leadership to lead the architecture and development future state plans regarding the Salesforce.com and Force.com capabilities at Bloomberg Industry Group.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com development including custom objects, workflows, and trigger.
- Familiar with SAAS and PAAS development (Salesforce.com and Force.Com).
- Experience with enterprise integration to Salesforce.com.
- Experience with data migration and ETL tools.
- Knowledge of SQL (Oracle/ MS SQL preferred).
- Experience with Salesforce integration and ability to resolve issues related to the Salesforce.com platform.
- Proficiency with Salesforce.com configuration.
- Proficiency at developing and executing test scenarios.
- Experience with an agile delivery approach to software development.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and technical expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical issues and resolve problems at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
- Ability to work independently on development projects.
- Experience with Lightning UI conversions and LiveOps is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability utilizing out of the box Salesforce capabilities (i.e. Process Builder) instead of programmatic changes when applicable.
- Ability to lead projects and deliver high level technical design documents and prototypes for requirement and design validation with our stakeholders.
- Experience in integrating Salesforce.com and Force.com with relational databases, 3rd party platforms, and Salesforce.com partner applications.
- Experience leading development efforts and participation in systems implementation as member of a cross functional team.
- Experience with leading and mentoring junior developers.
- Experience implementing Sales Cloud, Service Could, Marketing Cloud, and Chatter.
- Familiarity with Outbound Messaging implementation is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of Salesforce.com's security model.
- Knowledge of Cloud based CRM Systems (Salesforce) and Enterprise business systems such as ERP, Accounting, and Reporting systems.
- Experience in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Force.com product offerings.
- Experience with database concepts and data modeling capabilities.
- Salesforce.com architecture, design and development.
- Experience with automated testing and deployment automation practices and tools.
- Experience in Continuous Integration and delivery process.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required (with a preference for a specialty in MIS or computer sciences). Master's degree in computer science or related technology field is preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on design/development experience with OOD WCF, Rest Services, JQuery, XML, XSLT, and unit testing framework.
- At least 4+ years' experience with technologies integral to Salesforce.com including: Visualforce, Apex, HTML/XHTML, jQuery, JavaScript, AJAX, SQL, SOAP, REST, SOQL, writing triggersand other technologies.
