Overview
This position is primarily responsible for sales and growth in Aviation through the establishment or improvement of client relationships. This position is also responsible for working across practice areas and service lines to develop business opportunities and assure services are performed in a manner compatible with the goal of being an industry leader.
Responsibilities
Business Development:
Builds and enhances existing client relationships to identify and initiate additional project opportunities within a client base for the service line, practice area and firm.
- Identifies and builds new client relationships that match the client and project type focus and overall business strategy of the service line and practice area.
- Promotes Woolpert as an industry leader for specified market/practice and service(s) with new and existing clients.
- Lead the business growth of key aviation planning and design (horizontal and vertical) services by developing a pipeline of new and existing business/contract opportunities throughout the Nation and specifically within the FAA.
- Drive partnerships with other consultants in the aviation industry to win and perform projects.
- Lead and support where appropriate all shortlist presentations for prospective clients and participate in contract negotiations with clients.
Project Management:
- Collaborate closely with the Aviation Market Director and dedicated aviation staff across the sales and leadership teams.
- Guide growth of the practice based on emerging trends, technologies, policies, and available funding sources that build on our existing reputation and relationships.
- Maintain a thought-leader/Subject Matter Expert profile in the industry by providing industry leading customer service to existing and potential clients.
- Guide the appropriate level of collaboration between Project Managers and the cross-functional technical (discipline) teams.
- Manage, monitor, and forecast metrics including Backlog, Profit and Loss, Sales, Net Revenue, Utilization, Continuing Education, and Non-Billable Travel and Expenses for the Practice.
- Provide quality reviews of project documentation including work plans thru final deliverables
- Assists project managers in or perform negotiation of project schedule, fee, scope and contract terms.
- Mentors Project Managers.
- Works with Project Managers to identify, address and resolve any project issues impacting client goals, objectives and/or client satisfaction.
- Defines and communicates client needs and expectations.
- Ensures continuous stakeholder (client, client's manager, etc.) communications addressing, resolving and anticipating project issues.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a BA/BS and 16 years related experience, MA/MS and 14 years related experience or 20 years related experience.
- Current professional registration, if applicable.
- Directly responsible to maintaining and growing clients natioally.
- Must be mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.
- Must be able to travel to meet the needs and demands of the practice area.
- Must be able to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of information and data.
- Must demonstrate an enterprising, innovative, proactive management approach.
- Must possess high levels of demonstrated leadership ability.
- Must be able to research and define multiple project scopes, schedules and budgets.
- Must be able to establish and maintain rapport with clients, vendors, management and employees.
- Must possess strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess excellent facilitation and/or meeting skills.
- Must possess excellent presentation and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Must have Microsoft Office suite skills.
Travel:
- Must be able to travel as required to meet the needs and demands of the practice.
Resulting Physical Qualifications:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.
- Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Posted Salary Range
USD $132,700.00 - USD $236,280.00 /Yr.
