*Description*
Position Summary Install provision test troubleshoot splice and maintain high-speed fiber optic transmission equipment and telecommunications circuits supporting service delivery. Perform and assist with the maintenance and configuration of all core technologies deployed. Responsible for supporting the reactive and proactive maintenance of Small Cell / DAS Networks. Typical responsibilities are resolution of Reactive Maintenance tickets and the completion of Preventative Maintenance and Network Acceptance tasks. Essential Job Functions Construction Manager 10 - Work with Fiber Optic SONET Ethernet and SDH related test equipment including OTDR PMD Optical Spectrum Analyzer BER Test Conduct and validate all testing of network equipment to ensure adherence to all Crown Castle Fiber procedures and equipment manufacturers specifications. - Work with the Network Operations Center for final acceptance and testing of all newly installed equipment and rings. Tests to include validation of all provisioning all alarm monitoring to the NMS Network Management System network switch protection etc. - Sets Sniffers. - Perform site survey of remote locations to ensure quality installation of all racks equipment power plants fiber cable etc. Report any and all defects to the Operations Manager and /or OSP Project Engineer. - Label and tag all equipment and cabling according to Network Engineering Diagrams. SCN / DAS Operations 90 - Perform advanced analysis and troubleshooting of problems / issues while assisting the NOC/customer. - Perform both hardware and software updates and/or changes to remote site equipment as necessary. - Complete and maintain electronic records of work completed on various assignments. - Interface with customers and carriers in support of service delivery and assurance. - Work independently for extended periods of time. - Work closely with the NOC Sales Engineering and customers. - Respond to all network outages impairments and emergencies in assigned area. - Perform elevated bucket truck inspections and repairs. - Complete all annual preventative maintenance inspections to Crown Castle standards. - Operate and understanding of RF and fiber related test equipment such as PIM analyzer Antenna analyzer RF power meter Spectrum analyzer Signal generator OTDR Fusion splicer and Fiber Optic power meter. - Operate PC or similar devices to gain access to Small Cell Network web based tools and complete assigned administrative tasks. - Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned. *Skills* osp, das, telecom *Top Skills Details* osp,das,telecom *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Education/Certifications - High school diploma or equivalent - Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred - Valid Drivers license required - CCNA Certification or equivalent a plus - DOT / Bucket Truck preferred Experience/Minimum Requirements - Two 2 to five 5 years of experience performing installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment OSP / ISP preferred - Working knowledge of SONET networks and hardware WDM networks and hardware Ethernet - 10/100/1000BaseT networks and hardware - Testing and delivering high speed telecommunications services - Operating variety of telecommunications test equipment - Technical knowledge of Fiber Coax and Low voltage trouble shooting Other Skills/Abilities - Computer skills using Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn a variety of new tracking and software programs - Excellent organizational/administrative skills - Self-motivated team player - Excellent problem-solving ability - Work well in an unstructured environment. - Ability to thrive in a dynamic problem-solving environment - Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment - Customer service orientation with a strong problem-solving approach - Strong communication skills - Ability to work in Web Based ticketing and network monitoring systems *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $35.38 - $35.38/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
