*Description*
System Support and Maintenance: Address and resolve support tickets using ServiceNow, focusing on both server and network-related issues. Perform server build-outs and break-fix tasks, with initial responsibilities centered on server configuration and troubleshooting. Respond to ticket requests for approximately 400 networking issues and 150 server issues, splitting server responsibilities with a teammate. Automation and Scripting: Write and maintain scripts in PowerShell or Ansible to automate routine tasks and eliminate repetitive "click admin tasks." Contribute to ongoing automation efforts as the team transitions to Ansible-based solutions. Infrastructure and Upgrades: Assist with ongoing system upgrades and infrastructure projects. Build and manage Active Directory groups and directories, applying Group Policy (GPO) as needed. Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with a team of 9, including a manager, supervisor, network engineers, and operations personnel. Document all work thoroughly in ServiceNow and maintain references in Confluence for cross-team collaboration. Cross-train with server and cloud teams to broaden technical skills and learn new technologies. Environment Details: 10,000 employees, 4,000 servers (30% Red Hat Linux, 70% Windows), with a small footprint in Azure. The team currently handles ticketing, and you'll join as a key resource to balance the load and ensure smooth operations. Must-Have Skills Scripting (PowerShell or Ansible): Intermediate scripting ability, with PowerShell experience and Ansible knowledge preferred. Windows/Linux Administration: Proficiency with both Windows and Red Hat Linux in a virtualized environment. Azure & Cloud Concepts: Basic knowledge of Azure and cloud infrastructure, with the organization moving toward a hybrid cloud model. Ticketing experience: Familiarity with Servicenow, Jira, Confluence or a similar tool is required. Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in troubleshooting, break-fix analysis, and system administration in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking, with the ability to handle high ticket volumes efficiently.
