Job Summary

This position will serve as a Senior IT Operations Analyst within the IMSS Data Center Operations group. Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, creating, analyzing, modifying, troubleshooting, initiating, and monitoring system related processes in a distributed environment. Additional responsibilities include designing, creating, troubleshooting and modifying scripts that support report creation and delivery. The role will also monitor data center environmental systems and handle routine maintenance as well as emergency situations in the absences of the Associate Director. As Senior, this role will train Assistant and Associate Operations Analysts and serve as the technical lead for the AppWorx job scheduling system.

Essential Job Duties
  • Technical lead for the Broadcom/CA Application Manager (aka AppWorx). Primary contact for support calls to Broadcom and/or technical support contractors.
  • Initiate, design, create, modify, troubleshoot, and remove jobs for scheduling into a distributed production environment using the AppWorx scheduling system.
  • Identify and resolve production problems caused by the AppWorx scheduling
    system, Oracle applications, Linux/Windows operating systems, local/wide area networks, AWS, or end-user workstations.
  • Decide on escalation routes during production problem resolution efforts.
  • Lead and coordinate problem resolution and escalation efforts among DBAs, system administrators, and Operations team members when necessary.
  • Create and proof Standard Operating Procedure documentation, performing final cross-checking of documentation produced by other team members.
  • Perform AppWorx scheduler maintenance, including the addition of printers, history records maintenance, and the collection of job statistics.
  • Design, create, modify, and troubleshoot Bash, Python, and SQL scripts which support report creation and delivery.
  • Print, quality check, securely handle and deliver payroll checks and billing statements.
  • Prepare and proof accurate daily production status reports for distribution to technical, functional, and managerial staff.
  • Install and remove server equipment, cabling, and cabinets as required in IMSS server room facilities.
  • Maintaining inventory and alert manager to initiate purchase requisitions for miscellaneous computer room equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor data center environmental conditions and execute appropriate escalation procedures in the event of any system issues.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Miscellaneous duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Broadcom/CA Application Manager .
  • Must possess the ability to design, create, update, and modify a distributed environment production schedule so that it consistently meets required demand.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and accurate operations procedures and status reports.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be proficient with basic Linux shell commands.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl and/or SQL preferred).
  • Must be willing to work day, swing, and grave shifts.
  • Must be willing to work on campus at least two days per week. More on campus time may occasionally be required for specific projects.
  • High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with SQL.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Database Management System and Oracle E-Business Suite.
  • Basic understanding of local area networks.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.

Hiring Range

$33.75 to $38.50 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
