NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position ofLead Desktop Engineer based in our Daytona Beach, Florida office.

The Lead Desktop Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive management of all trackable IT assets, including but not limited to, Computers, Docking stations, Monitors, Peripherals, and Mobile Devices. This role entails maintaining accurate records, coordinating asset distribution, disposal, and lifecycle management, as well as providing crucial technical support to end-users.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the maintenance of the ServiceNow hardware asset catalogs, ensuring data accuracy and relevancy
  • Provide guidance and leadership in the area of asset management, ensuring tasks are efficiently assigned and executed
  • Ensure effective communication with other departments regarding asset inventory, ensuring that relevant teams are informed about our projects, initiatives, and progress. Likewise, maintain awareness of any changes, updates, or developments from other teams that could impact our operations, ensuring our team remains well-informed and prepared to adapt as needed
  • Foster a collaborative environment by serving as a bridge for information exchange, promoting seamless coordination, and facilitating the flow of essential information between teams
  • Track and monitor technology assets life cycle to include receiving, storage, inventory, distribution, and disposal.
  • Receive and verify delivered technology items against purchase orders, promptly addressing any discrepancies or issues
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of asset inventory, identifying obsolete equipment and managing disposal or recycling
  • Check shipments for damage, overages, shortages, and promptly report/resolve issues
  • Create tickets for lifecycle replacements, ad hoc computer requests and other technology items as needed
  • Enter new asset information in ServiceNow to include serial number, equipment model, quantity
  • Update ServiceNow when a computer is lifecycled, change status of old asset(s) to retired, loaner, etc.
  • Ship out computers to NASCAR tracks and entities to lifecycle computers, for new hires, and break/fix scenarios
  • Provide support for installed assets to ensure that all required markings/tagging and unique record identification of each asset is performed and documented, whether in production or in stock.
  • Process all inventory requests and provide technical support to end users for the setup of computers
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the asset management framework
  • Provision computers for new hires and lifecycle replacements
  • Work directly with end users to make sure all required applications are installed, data is copied, and hardware requirements are satisfactory when and end user is provisioned a new computer
  • Helps maintain the Intune platform to ensure it is current with configurations, apps, security, policies
  • Responsible for computer imaging using SCCM/Intune, ensuring correct updates and software entitlements
  • Ensure all equipment is returned upon an employee's departure, or upon a completed lifecycle replacement. For remote employees, ensure all trackable assets are shipped back to a corporate office
    • Process the received assets by updating the asset(s) status in Service Now
    • Wipe, reprovision, or dispose of assets accordingly
    • Report to employee's manager and HR any missing equipment not received. Replenish if necessary and charge back to the separated employee's department
  • Manage the asset mailbox and handle requests in a timely manner
  • Help as needed with service desk operations such as answering phones, responding to emails, in-person desk setup/removal, and remote desktop support. May include on-call responsibilities.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary

Required skills / experience:

  • 2-4 years' experience in ServiceNow Asset Management preferred
  • Proficient in ServiceNow Asset Management or comparable and Microsoft SCCM/Intune platforms
  • 2-4 years' experience in Workday preferred
  • Proven work experience in IT asset management, Service Desk Tech, or similar role
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in IT, inventory control, or similar roles
  • Strong analytical abilities to manage asset data accurately and effectively
  • Energetic, organized, and motivated individual with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects under time-sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Display strength of character and the ability to guide and inspire a team
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects
  • People-oriented with a passion for assisting users and working on collaborative projects
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
