Position Summary |
This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of all aspects of marketing, communications and public relations functions of the statewide efforts of the Archway Partnership at the University of Georgia. The position requires creating an overall communications plan for the organization and then working to implement that plan strategy. The position requires researching, writing and developing engaging content, ensuring that the unit website is maintained and representing the Archway Partnership as a spokesperson both on campus and in Archway communities. This position does require statewide travel and occasional overnight travel depending on the circumstances. This position also may involve the supervision of students with expertise in communications-related fields. The position works closely with Archway faculty and staff as well as communications specialists in the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach (
VPPSO) and the seven other Public Service and Outreach (
PSO) units. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
Excellent interpersonal skills, writing, proofing, editing, presentation and communication skills. Must be proficient with AP style newswriting, social media applications and website management. Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills and be comfortable with public speaking |

- Create compelling, engaging and data driven content that highlights the impact of the Archway Partnership in communities and on campus.
- Responsible for content development and coordination of media output including social media, written communication and web-based information.

Brand Representations and Media Relations.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for the Archway Partnership to inform key audiences including university faculty, students, community partners and external stakeholders, build relationships and increase coverage of Archway Partnership work.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external media contacts and coordinate interviews, media opportunities and external speaking engagements.

- Work closely with Archway faculty and staff as well as communications specialists in the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach (VPPSO) and the seven other Public Service and Outreach (PSO) units to facilitate the creation of stories/photos that can run on UGA/ PSO news page, in Columns or be pitched to local news outlets. May involve interaction and supervision of students with expertise in communications-related fields.
