Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States can be found in the JOB INFO section below. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Leadership? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our global transportation and logistics function. As a Manager-Inventory Control Systems, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

The Manager - Inventory Control Systems will establish inventory control guidelines, policies and processes. The manager will oversee and enforce transactional discipline within our inventory operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of inventory transactions, protecting the inventory assets of our manufacturing company. The Manager will lead a team responsible for implementing and maintaining robust system controls, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. They will work closely with other departments to streamline inventory processes and ensure accurate and timely inventory transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Control Leadership: Lead and manage the inventory control team, ensuring efficient operations, accurate inventory transactions, and adherence to best practices. Provide guidance, training, and performance management to maintain a high-functioning team capable of supporting the company's production and operational goals.
  • Policy Development & Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce inventory control policies and procedures that align with company standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor compliance with established protocols, ensuring transactional discipline across all inventory-related activities to minimize errors and inefficiencies.
  • Inventory Accuracy & Auditing: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of inventory controls, conducting regular audits and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy. Identify and investigate discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve processes to enhance data integrity and inventory reliability.
  • Cross-functional collaboration & Process Improvement: Work closely with production teams, Finance, and other Supply & Logistics functions, such as Procurement and Logistics to streamline inventory processes, improve operational efficiency, and resolve inventory-related issues. Leverage data analysis to identify bottlenecks, implement process enhancements, and optimize inventory workflows.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast inventory needs, and make strategic recommendations for improvements. Prepare and present detailed inventory reports to senior management, providing insights into inventory performance, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains.
  • Leadership & People Management: Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team. Role model appropriate and professional workplace behaviors, address/mediate conflicts to restore harmony, and support a positive, healthy and inclusive workplace culture in accordance with S&C's mission, vision, values and guiding principles. Manage departmental administrative team member processes including but not limited to recruitment, induction, vacation management, performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and workforce/succession planning. Proactively establish, monitor, and hold team members accountable to clear responsibilities and accountabilities, provide ongoing performance feedback, both positive and developmental, address performance gaps in a timely manner, recognize and reward achievements, and initiate decisions for corrective actions and terminations where required.
  • Budget Support: Manage the department budget, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and identifying resource and equipment costs for projects.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Statistics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in supply planning, demand planning or production planning, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in transforming enterprise demand planning or integrated business planning, including an in-depth understanding of capacity planning, supply inventory strategies, and risk management
  • In-depth understanding of Oracle Demand and Supply Planning Capabilities, and industrial supply chain management principles
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Great analytical skills with the ability to compile data and generate meaningful reports.
  • Proficient in using Oracle ERP for production planning functions.
  • Sound business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve complex issues and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Great communication skills, (written, verbal, listening and presentation) able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels from management to support staff. Creative and persuasive in communicating how interventions can improve current practices.
  • Sound interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, including the flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Great organizational, planning, and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources and juggling key demands.
  • Sound leadership skills with an ability to lead, guide, mentor, and delegate to deliver results, build teams and capabilities, embrace change, drive decisions and results, embrace culture and inclusion, and exhibit integrity.
  • Great computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI. Experience with developing or using digital tools.

Preferred:

  • MBS or Master's in Supply Chain Management.
  • 5+ years in enterprise, multi-site or multi-plant supply planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in building supply planning excellence and teams.
  • APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Green Belt or Black belt
