The BT Client Platform Engineering Team

The Senior BT Client Platform Engineer Opportunity
In this role, you will be part of the Business Technology (BT) Client Platform Engineering team, which is focused on corporate endpoint management and security. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, usability, and deployment of all endpoints at Okta.

What you'll be doing
- Manage Okta's fleet of macOS and iOS devices globally with Jamf Pro and open-source tools
- Ensure that endpoints meet industry standard / regulatory requirements (ex: NIST, CIS, STIG, etc.) with a solid understanding of Apple and Windows platform security
- Serve as an escalation point for the global IT support team and work closely with the security team to enforce endpoint security models and best practices
- Deploy applications, configurations, settings, and scripts to all endpoints, and keep devices up to date as new vulnerabilities are discovered
- Collaborate with other teams across the business to automate and integrate services with managed endpoints
- Operate with an engineering mindset where automation is the top priority, driving efficiency and scalability in all aspects of the role
- Create workflows, pipelines, and images for Windows-based virtual machines in a VDI ecosystem (AWS Workspaces, Windows 365, AVD)
- Plan and prepare for future growth and scaling of the endpoint program at Okta
- Balance security with user experience by advocating for and designing the best user experience possible.
- Drive What's Next for major OS releases by working closely with internal product teams during beta testing to bring day-1 support to our customers.
What you'll bring to the role
- 5+ years experience in systems engineering
- Advanced level expertise in managing endpoints in a large corporate environment
- Proficient in any of the following: bash, PowerShell, Python, Go, Swift, or other programming languages
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including infrastructure and configuration as code
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, SVN, etc.
- Experience with automation tools such Okta Workflows, GitHub Actions, GitLab pipelines, Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, etc.
- Deep understanding of APIs and the ability to develop custom integrations and workflows connecting systems
- Working knowledge of AWS Lambda or similar serverless technologies
- Understanding of CIS benchmarks and endpoint hardening best practices
- Experience with VDI technologies and tools (AWS, Azure, Citrix, VMware)
- Knowledge of identity standards (SAML, OIDC, etc.) and federation workflows
- Strong communication skills with the ability to produce technical documentation, generate reports, and define metrics
- Will be required to participate in on-call rotation
- US Person Status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee)
And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!
- Experience building and integrating identity (Okta, SAML, OIDC) into endpoint management
- Linux management experience
- Relevant IT industry certifications (Okta, AWS, Microsoft, ITIL, etc.) are a plus
- Experience with Federal requirements and FedRAMP compliance

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
