Overview

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for a Project Manager in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).



Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

Function as the single point of contact for clients bringing samples to 222-S Laboratory. Work scope involves demonstrating creativity and mature technical judgment in solving technical problems in support of the lab mission. Specific work scope includes, but is not limited to, project management, sample disposal, and interface with clients, line management, project managers, and scientists. Candidate will be expected to attend and contribute subject matter expertise at meetings with other Hanford contractors. This position requires a high degree of organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Provide leadership for the Analytical Operations team working within their assigned area of responsibility.

This position reports directly to the Analytical Control group manager within the Analytical Operation organization.

    Under minimal administrative direction, applies an extensive and diversified knowledge of Project Management principles and practices in assignments and related work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to facilitate project milestones. Must be able to communicate to peers and management clearly and concisely.
  • The candidate will be the single point of contact with clients for sample delivery.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Analytical Operations scope.
  • Take prompt action to coordinate and communicate assigned objectives and understand/identify issues and opportunities.
  • Makes decisions independently on problems and methods and represents the department in conferences to resolve important questions and coordinate work.
  • Demonstrates interpolative thinking, utilizes advanced techniques, modifications, or extensions to practiced theories, and is generally seasoned technically in laboratory operations.
  • May function as lead Project Manager on a task force or special assignment, coordinating the activities of scientists or analytical project managers from the discipline specialty, for example sample disposal.
  • Comply with HLMI policies and procedures.
  • Ensure ISMS Principles are incorporated into organization's activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Minimum Requirements

  • BS degree in related technical discipline and 10 years of related experience


Desired Qualifications

  • BS Degree in related technical discipline and 12 years' directly related experience.
  • Project Management skills with Field Execution Schedules including familiarity with Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management / scheduling software
  • Analytical laboratory experience in environmental laboratory performing CLP-type work


Compensation

Grade 20: $129,063 - $162,688

Grade 21: $142,038 - $179,113

The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
