About this opportunity: The Ericsson US 5G Smart Factory is hiring an SMA Kanban Team Lead for one of our day shifts. This Team Lead will mentor and lead a group of operators that will operate within the SMA Kanban area to assist with the monitoring and delivery of components to the production line. The chosen candidate for this role is someone with a demonstrated track record of leading teams, directing workflow, improving processes, and preventing disruption of the internal and external supply chain. Other meaningful aspects of the position include working with different functional groups, inventory auditing, addressing employee concerns, and solving problems. What you will do:
- Drive Kanban and Manage Inventory: Lead the SMA Kanban team in ensuring accurate material storage and component replenishment to the SMA Line, while acting as the primary contact for material-related escalations and challenges. Drive inventory accuracy KPIs and support both volume and special status builds.
- Utilize Technology: Proficiently use Valor software system and other tools and apps for processing SMA components, managing inventory, and conducting audits.
- Communicate: Actively participate in daily production meetings. Collaborate with SMA Line Team Leads and Production Planning. Facilitate effective communication across departments, raising issues through appropriate channels to ensure seamless operation and problem resolution.
- Leadership and Team Development: Mentor and motivate team members, address low-level conflicts, document operator performance feedback, and serve as a backup for Supervisors in their absence. Ensure operators adhere to working times, quality standards, and work instructions, while communicating cross-functionally to resolve issues with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality departments.
- Lead Changeovers: Lead product changeovers and offline set up preparation of feeder tables for pick and place machines.
- Employ 5S Methodology and Promote Safety: Encourage safe working practices, enforce safety procedures and PPE use, identify and report safety issues promptly, and serve as the point person during emergencies. Maintain cleanliness in the Kanban area according to 5S principles and manage non-conforming materials.
- Adherence to Guidelines: Promote strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines without deviation, ensuring a culture of compliance throughout operations.
The skills you bring:
- Educational Background: High School Diploma as a foundational requirement.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid grasp of utilizing computers, tablets, and smartphones for material handling and daily warehouse operations, along with the ability to navigate various software applications effectively.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, fostering collaboration and understanding within teams.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven capability to lead, coach, and motivate others, supported by previous leadership or people management experience.
- Proactive and Quality-Focused: A proactive spirit and fast learning ability, paired with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work consistently.
- Industry Experience: Experience in a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production environment, or familiarity with Kanban-driven manufacturing processes.
- Safety Awareness: Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge precautions to ensure adherence to safety standards in production environments.
