Description

The Manager- IA Analytics is responsible for the execution of the third line of defense business intelligence (BI) and analytics needs through participation in audit projects and loan reviews. Generally, this teammate will identify and implement data solutions, modeling, and BI opportunities, to help the Internal Audit team evaluate risks, efficiently execute audit projects and loan reviews, improve audit and loan review coverage, and test issue resolution. This also includes collaboration with the Company's Lines of Business in relationship to data sources and data analysis/modeling outcomes.

This position may also include analysis of financial results related to Balance Sheet, Income Statement and other related data fields that support the Operations of the Bank. The position also creates detailed reports related to the performance of the various lines of business that support the mission of Internal Audit and Loan Review.

Position Accountabilities:



  • Participate in audit and review planning/data scoping and loan reviews and translate the needs into data driven solutions and analytics technical requirements
  • Designs and develops ETL solutions using design best practices for data automation using tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Python
  • Partner to fellow internal audit teammates to design, build and deploy integrated solutions for data modeling, sampling, risk and control evaluation (Dashboards, Standard Reports, ADHOC Self Service, Scorecards, models) using industry BI Tools like Power BI and Tableau
  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation which could include tool configurations, business requirements, metadata, KPI definitions, business rules, data process flows, data dictionaries, and model governance
  • Manage foundational data administration tasks such as scheduling jobs, and troubleshooting job errors along with deploying ETL job workflow with reliable error/exception handling
  • Ensure proper configuration management, change controls, and data quality checks are implemented and maintained for data/BI tools and solutions
  • Guide and support BI best practice, efficient platform integrations, and suggest process and efficiency improvements

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience



  • A Bachelor's Degree in a technology area of study; preferably in Computer Science, MIS, Analytics, or Mathematics
  • 5+ years equivalent work experience in Information Technology or a structured Data Analytics function
  • 5+ years ETL development experience preferably using Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools and Python
  • 5+ years of experience in relational database and model design
  • 5+ years analysis experience, including documenting business requirements and/or functional specifications in a data warehousing environment
  • 3+ years of experience with query tools and Business Intelligence tools like Power BI, Qlikview, Cognos, Business Objects or Tableau
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience supporting data analytics needs of Internal Audit or other related Risk Management functions.


Knowledge & Skills



  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of three lines of defense, internal controls, and risk management principles.
  • Experience to gather data and reporting business requirements from all levels of associates and translating into integrated analytics solutions
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, and Microsoft SQL tools (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS)
  • Proven ability as an Analytics Developer building data sets, models, dashboards, scorecards and reports in an integrated manner (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, Python, R)
  • Understanding of database design, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
  • Knowledge of data modeling, metadata collection and documentation
  • Methodical and structured approach to design and development
  • Strong analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude; strategic thinking with ability to connect the dots during user interactions and data evaluations
  • Proactive leadership style; self-starter, strong attention to detail, and independent work management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, SharePoint)


Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
