Primary Function: Under the direction of the Director of Student Life & Leadership Development, plan, organize, and participate in all aspects of Student Life and Leadership Development at the Bethlehem and Pocono Campuses. Daily activities shall be directed toward the attainment of the goals of the College plan as enunciated by the Academic and Student Affairs Division. Primary functions include developing and implement leadership programs as well as non-partisan civic and voter education initiatives. Responsibilities: Working with the staff assigned: (1) Plans, publicizes and executes evening, weekend, social, cultural and educational programs for all students (2) Develops leadership opportunities and events for all students, including but not limited to, a leadership conference and one programming series each semester. (3) Acts as liaison to the Alumni Affairs & Career Services office for the leadership endowment and with Housing and Residence Life to ensure congruent programming. (4) Develops, plans, selects, and implements the Student Leadership class each year. (5) Works with the Director of Student Life & Leadership Development and other departments to design, implement, and facilitate leadership training for student clubs and Advisors. (6) Advises a student organization. (7) Creates and implements leadership training and programs for clubs. (8)Oversees the planning and implementation of civic related events including but not limited to national voter registration day, constitution day, vote early day, and civic education week (8) Assists the Director of Student Life & Leadership Development with the implementation of the college's Campus Democratic Engagement Plan including voter registration and education strategies for both the Bethlehem & Pocono campuses (9) Participates in student services sponsored events, including but not limited to: Orientations, Open House Events, as well as other Programs and Events as assigned, e.g. Ropes Course. (10) Serves on various College-wide committees. (11) Supervises NCC Votes Ambassadors and the social media and marketing work-study students. (12) Performs special assignments, as assigned. Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to the Director of Student Life & Leadership Development for satisfactory performance of assigned responsibilities. (2) Coordinate and manage student relationships with members of Bethlehem Student Affairs, Faculty, and various Bethlehem campus teams. (3) Collaborates with pertinent college offices. (4) Represent the College to community organizations and groups. (5) Function as an active member of the College's administrative team. Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) Mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within a specified time frame; (2) Responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives; and (3) Effective cooperative relationships exist with other members of the campus faculty and staff. Qualifications: (1) Education: (a) Attainment of a Bachelor's Degree from a Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor required; Master's Degree in Higher Education/Student Personnel or related field from a regionally-accredited college or university preferred. (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) Knowledge of current concepts in Student Life, Leadership Development, and Student Services (b) operate effectively as a member of an instructional team; (c) Organize and work effectively with small groups; (d) Work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and community representatives; (e) Adapt to differences and changes in program, colleague, student and community characteristics; (f) Refined technical and managerial skills; (g) Works with and relates to community constituents; (h) ability to use technology systems and tools to support Student Life operations. (3) Experience: (a) 3-5 years' experience preferred in student services; (b) Served in an administrative capacity. *Per the Federal Jeanne Clery Act, this position is designated as a Campus Security Authority |
