SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER (Franklin, LA)

Provide leadership and expertise regarding continuous improvements in manufacturing process capability, capacity and productivity and ensure safe and optimal process utilization. Develop and implement process changes and equipment care procedures to ensure plant safety and reliability.

Recommend and implement changes to improve plant performance by optimizing product volume, yields and quality in accordance with business needs while minimizing operating costs and maximizing unit safety and reliability. Use statistical techniques to improve process capability and failure analysis methodology to investigate, find root causes, recommend and implement equipment modifications, and upgrade and/or implement process improvements;
• Lead new product and process development teams to coordinate and oversee new product and process runs and associated documentation. Oversee development of plant wide Standard Operating Procedures for process and equipment operation. Ensure all process and procedure changes are in line with Management of Change (MOC) principles;
• Oversee plant mechanical integrity program by investigating equipment problems and eliminating recurrence of failures to improve plant performance and reliability. Lead review of preventive maintenance plans to ensure optimum scheduling. Implement Predictive Maintenance Programs to monitor condition of plant and equipment to maximize safety and reliability and reduce downtime. Oversee maintenance projects and monitor progress of external maintenance contractors;
• Conduct "end-of-life" assessments and make recommendations for equipment repair and replacement. Assist with equipment repairs as needed and provide information and guidance to original equipment manufacturers, after-market suppliers and outside repair shops;
• Provide leadership and technical expertise to solve complex operating problems.
• Provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers;
• Develop and implement equipment, procedure and process changes including design and implementation of improvement projects and participation in Hazard Operability Studies and Process Hazards Analysis. Serve as Process Safety Management custodian at plant in evaluation of manufacturing process-related risks and incidents. Provide training as required to manufacturing personnel in relevant manufacturing processes;
• Communicate as required with regional and corporate counterparts to facilitate continuous improvement and ongoing organizational learning;
• Support efforts to implement and maintain Responsible Care Management System in line with the requirements of RC14001 technical specification as applicable to the site/region.

Requires:

• Bachelor's degree or Foreign Degree Equivalent in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline AND minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience in chemical plants.

Requires the following experience:

• 5 years of experience in Chemical Manufacturing;
• 5 years of experience utilizing technical knowledge of process and product technology;
• 5 years of experience applying engineering principles and theories;
• 5 years of experience in Process Safety Management and applying Root Cause Failure Analysis;
• 5 years of experience managing and leading projects; 5 years of experience managing and implementing change initiatives;
• 5 years of experience employing strong analytical skills to gather, analyze and draw well-reasoned conclusions;
• 1 year of experience with Aspen, Delta V, Cause Mapping, Power BI, MS SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Planner.
