Enbridge Gas Ohio is hiring an Environmental Compliance Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with environmental, chemical, waste management, and permit regulations at natural gas pipeline construction projects. As the Coordinator, you will also be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the work site to comply with regulatory and company standards and procedures.

Here's what you will do:

  • Serves as liaison with external and governmental agencies. Coordinates with and monitors operations and maintenance personnel, to ensure compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management, and permit rules and regulations.

  • Inspects or assesses pipeline construction projects and provides recommendations regarding compliance issues to management.

  • Serves as primary site coordinator with internal department and external agencies on environmental or chemical management issues.

  • Analyzes data and prepares regulatory reports.

  • Procures services or materials for the administration and implementation of environmental programs.

  • Coordinates hazardous waste disposal. Collects samples of soil, water, waste materials for environmental analysis.

  • Provides training to company personnel in handling of chemicals and waste materials, and for other environmental requirements.

  • Evaluates new regulations and coordinates development and implementation of compliance plans.

  • Responds to environmental emergencies occurring within area of responsibility.

Who you are:

You have:

  • A High School diploma with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience OR an Associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience OR a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

    • Preferred Degree: Environmental Technology

  • Knowledge of related environmental regulations and applicable environmental requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including public speaking skills

  • Analytical and record keeping skills

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Power Point)

  • Organizational skills and time management skills

You can:

  • Develop, implement and administer complex environmental compliance plans

  • Interpret and/or apply environmental requirements to company operations and translate regulatory regulations, permit and plan requirements into understandable compliance guidance

  • Prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports

  • Work independently and in field environments

Working Conditions:

  • Office Work Environment 26-50%.

  • Field Work Environment up to 25%.

  • Travel Up to 25%.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
