Overview
CCS transforms chronic care management by combining equipment and products with comprehensive education, monitoring, and coaching to improve care outcomes and reduce acute episodes. With this collaborative care approach, we are redefining patient care at home. We are seeking a passionate Data Scientist to solve data analytics problems. The Data Scientist will be part of the enterprise data analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) group focused on developing CCS unique data driven products. The ideal candidate will have mathematical and statistical expertise, along with natural curiosity and a creative mind. While mining, interpreting, and cleaning our data, this person will be relied on to ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover hidden opportunities for realizing the data's full potential. As part of a team of data analysts and engineers, the data scientist will "slice and dice" data using various methods and create new visions for the future. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director, Data Science. The position location is flexible, but the placement must be willing to travel quarterly.
Responsibilities
- Using machine learning tools to select features, create and optimize classifiers
- Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems
- Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis
- Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions
- Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms
- Presenting results in a clear manner
- Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges
- Collaborate with Business and IT teams
- Builds actionable data visualizations that identify areas of opportunity and help drive Excellence at scale.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with several stakeholders across multiple organizations
- Be curious, creative, opinionated thinker with a talent for detecting patterns and elevating through strategy
- Ability to facilitate conversations with Business Owners and Stakeholders to understand the problem, rapidly iterate proposed solutions, and clearly present new findings/ solutions.

Qualifications
- 5 plus years of data and analytics.
- Education- Bachelor's Degree, (BA/BS) in Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Programming Skills - knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL, Hive, Pig is desirable. Familiarity with Scala, Java, or C++ is an added advantage.
- Statistics - Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc. Proficiency in statistics is essential for data-driven companies.
- Machine Learning - good knowledge of machine learning methods like k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests.
- Strong Math Skills (Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra) - understanding the fundamentals of Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra is important as they form the basis of a lot of predictive performance or algorithm optimization techniques.
- Data Wrangling - proficiency in handling imperfections in data is an important aspect of a data scientist job description.
- Experience with Data Visualization Tools like matplotlib, ggplot, d3.js., Power BI, or Tableau that help to visually encode data
- Excellent Communication Skills - it is incredibly important to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience.
- Strong Software Engineering Background
- Hands-on experience with data science tools
- Analytical mind and great business sense
