Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $27.21 - Midpoint: $35.35 (Hourly N9)

Department/Organization: 204906 - Archaeology Research

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm

Job Summary: The Cultural Resources Investigator PT performs laboratory and field investigations on a part-time basis. Originates, conducts, and reports research. Manages allocation of funds within a contract or grant budget.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of cultural research experience; OR master's degree and four (4) years of cultural research experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of state and federal reporting guidelines and be very familiar with the National Historic Preservation Act, specifically, Section 106 Regulations. Ability to apply conventional research methods and techniques in their field of expertise to expeditiously organize and execute research tasks. Ability to design research strategies and develop realistic budgets for research projects. Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to work in a team environment. Ability to work on or supervise more than one team (project) at a time and interface with and often supervise researchers from other disciplines with contrasting training, abilities, and proclivities. Independent and innovative thinking skills, decision-making skills, and capable of integrative thinking at the highest level of complexity. Ability to adhere to deadlines and handle pressure. Excellent skills with Adobe Creative Cloud software, ESRI mapping software, and Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications: PhD degree; OR a master's degree and five (5) years of individual research experience. Ability to meet Secretary of Interior Professional Qualifications Standards. Experience, training, and talent in research administration. Experience as a technical writer and in working with a variety of style guides, particularly the Society of American Archaeology Style Guide. Experience with Tribal Consultations as well as have a Tribal network to call upon when Tribal expertise.
