The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, knowledge of the heavy-duty truck industry, and a passion for building lasting customer relationships. This role involves frequent local travel within the assigned territory to engage with existing clients and prospect new accounts. - Develop and Grow Sales: Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, networking, and strategic outreach to trucking companies, repair facilities, and municipalities.
- Maintain Customer Relationships: Build and strengthen relationships with existing clients by providing exceptional service, addressing their needs, and offering tailored solutions.
- Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our heavy-duty truck parts, services, and competitive advantages to effectively communicate value to customers.
- Sales Planning: Collaborate with management to create and execute a sales plan, regularly reviewing progress to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Order Coordination: Communicate parts orders to internal teams, advise on stock or emergency status, and ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and market demands, sharing insights with management to enhance our offerings.
- Reporting: Submit weekly activity/call reports, maintain accurate customer records, and use CRM tools to track sales activities and opportunities.
- Customer Support: Assist with warranty issues, coordinate with parts and service teams, and troubleshoot customer problems to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the heavy-duty truck parts, automotive, or related industry.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or equivalent experience in business or a technical field preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with heavy-duty truck parts, commercial truck shop operations, or experience in a truck dealership is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close sales.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects effectively.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. (e.g., for parts delivery when needed).
- Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
- Preferred: 3+ years of outside sales or account management experience in the heavy-duty truck industry.
