Primary Duties

1. Provides support to Engineering by preparing simple detailed orthographic drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and 3D isometric views using AutoCAD/CADWorx.
2. Aids in developing mechanical piping, electrical, civil layouts, and P&IDs using Company standards. Also aids in developing sketches with available vendor specifications and/or conceptual guidance from engineering or higher-level drafters/designers.
3. Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD/CADWorx, with basic knowledge of drafting standards and piping practices.
4. Develops final as-built drawings from field-collected redlines by reading and comprehending as-built closing packages to reflect current conditions.
5. Updates simple 2D/3D design models, plans, and layouts for construction and operation using written or verbal specifications from Engineers.
6. Uses Raster Design software when required to digitally modify scanned copies of legacy facility drawings.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work independently or as part of a team while meeting project deadlines.
8. Uses document control management systems to ensure integrity and preservation of record drawings.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Experience Level
High school diploma and two years of Computer Drafting experience, or equivalent.

Communication Skills:

Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with little or no experience or knowledge of the technical area.

Numeric Skills:

Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages, simple statistical methods, algebra, trig, and geometry.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Professional, Raster Design, Microsoft Office products. CADWorx Steel, CADWorx Equipment, CADWorx PID Plant Professional, and CADWorx Isogen preferred.

Work Conditions:

Works primarily in an office environment but will require periodic trips to field and construction sites. Includes occasional travel out of town overnight. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
