The Global Transportation Manager will provide broad based leadership to design and oversee the daily operations of Univar Solutions' network of global logistics providers. This role will be responsible for the transformation of Univar Solutions network of international transportation providers, processes and shipping patterns to deliver on our commitment to reimagine distribution and incorporating digital initiatives into our core logistic functions. Furthermore, this role will oversee carrier allocation management and supplier performance metrics. Key deliverables for the role will also include lead time reductions, landed costs reductions and establishment of new services to support import and export material sourcing requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Expertise

  • Optimization of Univar's global transportation network through end-to-end order management practices, order visibility and performance metrics
  • Keen focus to develop landed cost and lead time reduction strategies
  • Lead project and change management practices associated with streamlining of logistics processes and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Orchestrate and lead LSP and Order Management programs

Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to gather and provide data for global transportation and supplier performance analytics
  • Develop ITS sustainability initiatives in alignment with corporate sustainability objectives
  • Audit and oversee timely data & logistics milestone flows (manual and EDI) into appropriate systems
  • Maintain timelines and deadlines

Analyzation & Optimization

  • Synthesize, analyze data and develop actionable strategies supporting capacity acquisition and management across all modes of transportation.
  • Implement optimizations to benefit import and export programs

Training

  • Develop and deploy internal trainings as appropriate on transportation processes and systems

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Min. 8 + years in leadership role responsible for the global management of international logistics operations (import & export), ocean & air carrier and 3PL networks
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management practices, landed costs calculations, forecasting and modeling
  • Bachelor's degree required, with preference for concentration in supply chain/logistics, international trade or equivalent leader oversight ofglobal ocean transportation networks
  • Demonstrated leadership of international freight procurement for ocean, air and multi-modal transportation
  • Demonstrated expertise in project and change management practices
  • Certifications in; PMP, NCBFAA Certifications (CCS, CES, MES), IATA, among others, is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills managing cross functional and globally based workgroups in matrixed and direct reporting structure.
  • Skilled at leading change management & training initiatives for new processes and technologies
  • Strong ability to synthesize, analyze data and develop actionable plans & strategies
  • Creative problem solving and time management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English - (Spanish or Mandarin a plus)
  • Experienced in use of computer, MS office applications, Tableau, Visio or SAP equivalent ERP system
  • Ability to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally to facilitate transformation of ITS transportation network.
