Director, Perfusion Services
Apply Keck School of Medicine Los Angeles, California USC Department of Surgery is recruiting a Director of Perfusion Services. The Director of Perfusion Services will oversee the USC Cardiovascular Thoracic Institute's administration, clinical growth, and development. The Director of Perfusion Services will also be accountable for institute compliance with quality improvement protocols that meet hospital and accreditation guidelines, provide all aspects of extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support for adult and pediatric patients, operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation necessary, supporting or replacing a patients own cardiopulmonary and circulatory function. In addition, the Director of Perfusion Services will direct the evaluation, approval, or rejection of proposed new equipment and techniques, and the implementation of accepted or acquired items. The Director of Perfusion Services will also oversee a Perfusion team of 15+ Staff Perfusionists and Perfusion Assistants. The annual base salary range for this position is $260,000 - $275,000. Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training Bachelor's degree Minimum Certifications: Certified Clinical Perfusionist- CCP Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification, or board eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP). Attends and completes all hospital-required safety training courses, and maintains ABCP certification, as well as certifications for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic life support (BLS), and/or basic cardio life support (BCLS) Minimum Experience: 10 years as an adult and pediatric perfusionist Addtional Experience Requirements Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum work experience Minimum Skills: Demonstrated attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills. Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree Organic Chemistry Or Bachelor's degree Physics Or Bachelor's degree Anatomy Or Bachelor's degree Physiology Or Bachelor's degree in related field(s) Preferred Experience: 10 years Preferred Skills: Demonstrated experience in a management or leadership role. Experience in an academic medical environment. Proven experience in crisis situations. Membership in relevant professional organizations. Fluency in Spanish, American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other languages in addition to English.
