Job Purpose - The Inventory Team Leader is responsible for identifying material requirements, executing purchase requisitions, releasing purchase orders, and coordinating material shipments. This role will use SAP Master Data to ensure accuracy of manufacturing consumption, as it relates to replenishment of materials. This includes working closely with Production, Planning, Logistics, and Finance to maintain accurate inventory, lead times, order quantities, and all other parameters that affect the accuracy of MRP. This position also develops/communicates the supply strategy (how much, when), derived economic order quantities when applicable, recommends safety stock levels that will be used to create supplier forecasts to mitigate stock-outs. The role is also responsible for supervision, direction of daily activities, and development of the Material Handling team.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Utilizes SAP Master Data at all levels of the BOM (makes changes as directed / recommends BoM Updates based on Consumption)
  • Interpret Annual Demand to establish a procurement plan(s) of key raw materials to meet production demands and working capital targets.
  • Maintain accurate catalogue of process, product, and packaging capabilities relevant to manufacturing needs.
  • Coordinates monthly cycles counts of raw materials, packaging items, and reports material discrepancies that may arise to the applicable area.
  • Follows all company environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines, and conducts work in a safe manner
  • Establish, monitor, and improve, the performance standards for the material handling processes and the systems which control them. Utilize lean manufacturing tools where appropriate. Maintain process databases and provide timely and routine feedback to those responsible for maintaining the material handling process performance.



Job Specifications (skills, knowledge, special training, certification, license requirements):



  • Minimum of five years of experience in operations, strong emphasis on production/inventory planning and prefer prior experience in inventory/supply chain planning and execution.
  • Prior hands-on experience in SAP with affinity for systems and data analysis
  • Technical knowledge of overall supply chain management: MRP, inventory management, planning, forecasting, and production scheduling
  • APICS/ASCM certification preferred.
  • Advanced user of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Requirements/Planning (Automated Planning System); e.g. Oracle, SAP, Ariba, etc.)



Desired:



  • A minimum of five years of chemical industry experience with some raw material ordering experience or bachelor's degree in supply chain or engineering or related field
