Job Description:
Hitachi Rail USA is seeking a Material Expeditor / MRB Coordinator in support of our North American Vehicle projects. The Material Expeditor / MRB Coordinator will work closely with the Head of Warehouse Manager to ensure the accomplishment of onshore activities for the assigned projects. The position will be based in the Hagerstown, MD Area, with some travel to our manufacturing plants in Italy and customer locations in the United States.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities (but are not limited to) :
- Monitors vendor delivery schedules for on time arrival of goods for manufacturing.
- Daily report of material coverage for assigned projects.
- In coordination and collaboration with warehouse operations performs regular reconciliation of inventory for manufacturing feasibility analysis.
- Oversees occurrence and disposition of non-conforming materials within a manufacturing and commissioning sites.
- Coordinates and progress tracking of MRB meetings for evaluation and decision on final disposition of defective or non-conforming materials.
- Collaborates with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure compliance with global standards.
- Monitors on time implementation of corrective actions at vendor level. Contact person for NCR resolution.
- Coordinates in collaboration with Project Operation team on site repair/rework/retrofit activities by external suppliers.
- Coordinates in collaboration with Project Operation team on management of serialized components.
- Oversees, document and plan materials management for introduction for manufacturing change notices until production staging.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recent Mechanical Engineering Graduate or supply chain relevant degree with 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
- Experience interfacing with inventory management, supply chain coordination, purchase order tracking, vendor liaison, quality control inspection, logistics planning.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to establish efficient and effective communication with domestic or foreign vendors assigned.
- Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and ability to multitask.
- Able to be firm on company requirements for selected vendors.
- Proficient in the use of Excel and SAP preferred.
- Able to work in under pressure in fast-pace environment.
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment
- Able to work overtime, Weekends and holidays (If necessary)
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment, result oriented approach, proactivity, autonomy and open mind.
- Available for short business travels.
- Fluent in English.
EDUCATION:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering Graduate or supply chain relevant degree.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require.
In accordance with the DOT's FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi's substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.
The salary range for this position is$64,000 to $96,000 per year.Final pay is determined by the candidate's experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location.
