Immunization Nurse

Inova Center for Personalized Health is looking for a dedicated Immunization Nurse to join the team. This role will be PRN - Requirement is at least 10 clinics during the season (10hrs/6 weeks). Clinics may be at any of our facilities, or anywhere around the Northern VA area. Shifts vary. Clinics are mainly on weekdays & Saturdays, with the occasional Sunday.

Immunization Nurse Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts vaccination clinics working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provides direct nursing services to individuals and families in the clinic setting.
• Conducts nursing assessments and implements appropriate intervention.
• Follows medical orders, provides necessary follow-up care to ensure program and health department standards are met.
• Provides patient education and counseling using language and methods appropriate to the patient's level of understanding.
• Performs duties as assigned.

Immunization Nurse Additional Requirements:

• Work schedule: PRN - Requirement is at least 10 clinics during the season (10hrs/6 weeks). Clinics may be at any of our facilities, or anywhere around the Northern VA area. Shifts vary. Clinics are mainly on weekdays & Saturdays, with the occasional Sunday.
• Education: Vocational / Technical Nursing degree
• Experience: 1 year of experience in vaccine administration
• Certification: Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Maryland or DC; Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association

Immunization Nurse Preferred Qualifications:

• Licensure: RN License within the state of VA. DC license is a bonus.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of Nursing
• Experience: Immunization experience as a RN
• Other: Comfortable with EPIC, or other, similar EMR system
