Job Summary

We are currently looking for eligible candidates to fill the full-time position of Assistant Manager at the Mac Brownell Adult Day Center. The Mac Brownell Adult Day Center serves older adults with cognitive impairment in a social model, activities-based program from 7:30 AM-5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The Assistant Manager will be tasked with overseeing customer services and care; supervising facility cleanliness and safety; assisting in recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff; overseeing the fiscal budget and monitoring Center's expenses; developing, promoting, and implementing programs and events for the Center; and ensuring quality and diversity of programs for older adults with cognitive impairment.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * Mac Brownell Adult Day Center, Purcellville, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Supervises, trains, and assists staff on best practices of dementia care to include activity programming and personal care in a DSS-licensed program * Complete initial and ongoing participant care plans and assessments * Oversees and Supervises Medication Administration Program and Personal Care Assistance * Complete monthly data entry utilizing case management software * Coordinates and assists with the implementation of events and programs at the Center * Coordinates the maintenance operations of the Center facility * Oversees customer service operations * Coordinates the staffing arrangements for the center * Carries out other assigned tasks, including stepping into various positions during instances of staff shortages and emergencies

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Recreation or Leisure Services, Social Work, Gerontology or related field and two (2) years related work experience in program and facility management working with the public, working with the frail elderly or special populations, groups, and organizations including one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Adult Day Center Assistant Managers for DSS licensure: Must undergo criminal background and credit checks. CPR/AED and First Aid Certification must be received before employment or immediately after hire. A TB test is necessary at the point of hire and must be administered each year after that. Within three months of being hired, it is essential to complete the Medications Management Certification. Certification as a Personal Care Aide is mandatory and must be acquired within 60 days of employment. Required training (22VAC40-61-110) must be received before working with participants. Annual DSS 12-hour required training must be completed. Complete County e-learning and supervisory training as required. An annual submission of a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation is mandatory, which must include any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, both within and outside the Commonwealth of Virginia. The person in this role must notify their supervisor in writing if they receive a conviction for an offense as detailed in * 63.2-1719.
