Responsibilities
Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Mathematical Scientist Senior (Systems Specialist) the Systems Engineering Department (SED) a customer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The program is providing systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program.
- Provides high-level subject matter expertise, analysis, strategic advice, and technical guidance to support project execution, business and technical operations, strategic initiatives, workforce development, business improvement, or as required to support tool development and integration with other environments, complex technical and organizational tasks.
- Provides advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems that require expert level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
- Qualifications and/or particular expertise are exceptional and/or highly unique and may include various digital innovation or disruptive technology areas (e.g., block chain, quantum computing, internet of things, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics process automation).
- This level of expertise may be applied to multiple technology areas and will be used in unique applications that warrant specialized expertise not otherwise found in this list of labor category requirements.
Qualifications
Education: Position requires a Computer Science or Information Technology MS or MA degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Management Information Systems Technology. Alternative Engineering disciplines include: Aerospace, Electrical, Electromechanical, Engineering Mechanics, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Mechanical, Naval Architecture and Marine, Nuclear and Radiological Systems, Industrial and Quality Management, or Safety. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for an MS or MA degree. Any years of experience used to substitute degrees must be in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the "Experience" requirements below, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience. Experience: At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems utilizing specialized skills, training, certification and experience performing work related to a specific area in the functional description. Must have demonstrated experience in a specialized area of technical/engineering expertise directly applicable to a technical area, discipline or product that supports the mission and relevant to a specific military or technical application. Areas relevant to technical application may include experience with the integrated systems engineering environment development and architecture, with cloud conversion,with transition to classified computing environments, and with integration with other Naval tools in varying environments, specialization in cutting edge equipment/software/tools, modeling and simulation techniques and technical processes, cybersecurity or aeromechanical technical domain which supports flight safety analysis and determination including AFSEO, FAA or equivalent flight certification specifically applicable to the requirement. - Candidate must hold an active DoD secret clearance.

Compensation
Senior Level: At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements. The general salary range for this position is $70,000-$200,000; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms.
