Multiagency Liaison

Willow Oaks Administrative Center

Description

Performs various professional tasks required to support Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) special education students eligible for contracted services ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; serves as the Local Educational Agency (LEA) representative and attends individualized education program (IEP) meetings; acts as liaison with outside service agencies and coordinates services through interagency collaboration.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree.
  • Four (4) years of experience in teaching special education students and/or delivering educational services to children and families.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to the assignment.
  • Knowledge of curriculum framework, instructional theory, procedures, and practices in special education.
  • Knowledge of growth and development and learning theory in specialty.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, legislation, and regulations related to public and special education.
  • Proficiency in technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Skill in assessment and evaluation of students with special needs or in special programs.
  • Skill in teaching adult learners.
  • Ability to deliver in-service training and provide a high level of instructional leadership for teachers and administrators.
  • Ability to gain the confidence and cooperation of students, teachers, and families.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with other professionals within the school and the community.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to ensure a program meets its goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Endorsement in administration and supervision PreK-12.

$88,019 - $149,779
