Position Summary:
The position of the Environmental Health and Safety Intern performs a variety of functions to assist in maintaining and preserving the health and safety of employees as well as the environment. This individual will be responsible for assisting in developing and maintaining existing systems related to plant safety, environmental control processes, regulatory compliance, and training.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Assists in compliance with Hazardous/Universal Waste regulations. May have to move drums.
  • Assist in developing safety training, including hazard communications, new employee safety orientation, lead awareness, hearing conservation, hazardous waste, fire extinguisher, CPR and first aid, and bloodborne pathogens.
  • Performs various office functions and other duties as required.


Education and/or Experience:



  • Attending College for a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety and/or equivalent experience.


Working Conditions:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
