Overview

R&P Technologies is looking for a marine electrician / technician level I to fill a full-time position undertaking a variety of tasks relating to assisting with the installation, repair and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment onboard US Navy ships in San Diego, CA. We support several different ship classes and types at various Navy installations around the United States coastal areas. This position will involve assisting in the installation of electrical cabling, building various electrical connectors, Installation of hardware and troubleshooting malfunctions in several different electrical and electronic systems. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must be willing to learn different kinds of electrical devices and systems. Prior shipboard experience is preferred, but not required.



Responsibilities

    Assist in the execution of electrical installations for many different electrical and electronic systems such as lighting, announcing, 115V/440V electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply equipment, Audio/Video equipment, Antenna systems and many others
  • Install electrical cabinets, fixtures and equipment for various electrical systems
  • Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks using various MIL-SPEC connectors
  • Pull in cables of various lengths and sizes to accommodate system connections
  • Work shipboard availabilities with a small crew.


Qualifications

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds on your own
  • Willingness to travel to various locations in support of ship maintenance availabilities
  • Flexibility with regards to scheduling and planned support due to constant Navy movement
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Navy DBIDS security credentials
  • Valid Security Clearance, or the ability to qualify and maintain one
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • OSHA 10 required or willing to obtain
  • Must be PUNCTUAL AND RELIABLE
  • Must be able to work a schedule Monday - Friday 40hrs plus flexible to work weekends as well

Salary

R&P offers a highly competitive compensation package that includes contributions towards health insurance, 401(k) matching, and other non-salary benefits.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $25.00-$28.00 per hour ($52,000.00-$58,240.00 annually).
