Your role and responsibilities

The Director of Pricing Strategy & Analytics is responsible for leading the development and execution of pricing strategies that optimize profitability, enhance market positioning, and drive revenue growth. This role involves conducting in-depth market analysis, leveraging data analytics, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment with ABB's business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities to guide a team of pricing professionals.
The ideal candidate would be able to work a hybrid schedule (#LI-Hybrid) out of the Memphis, TN office.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Developing comprehensive pricing strategies that align with the company's business objectives, taking into account market dynamics such as supply and demand, customer behavior, and economic conditions. This involves segmenting the market and identifying the target audience to tailor pricing effectively.
- Utilizing advanced data analytics tools to assess historical pricing performance, customer purchasing patterns, and market trends. This data-driven approach enables informed decision-making.
- Developing financial models to forecast the revenue impact of different pricing strategies. This includes scenario analysis to evaluate potential outcomes based on varying pricing levels and market conditions. Extract meaningful insights from complex datasets to identify opportunities for pricing optimization. This could involve segmenting customers based on price sensitivity or analyzing the impact of promotional pricing.
- Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of pricing strategies. Common KPIs include pricing elasticity, margin contribution, and market share. Regularly monitor and analyze pricing metrics to assess the impact of pricing initiatives on overall business performance. This ongoing evaluation helps in making data-driven adjustments to pricing strategies.

Qualifications for the role
  • Masters Degree / MBA is highly preferred, Bachelor's Degree required in a relevant field
  • 10+ years of experience leading either pricing or business strategy at a complex, large organization (focusing on B2B would be preferred)
  • Industry experience highly preferred but not required for a leader with the essential relevant business skills
  • Can act as a change leader and deal with ambiguity amongst a changing organization
  • Ability to travel an estimated 10-15%
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
